Insurance time, and I have multicar insurance with guaranteed value on the M Roadster. Kit car is insured elsewhere at the moment.

Howden came in at £875 for Range Rover, Smart and M Roadster (with guaranteed value).

Renewal from Lancaster was £1250, but I got them down to £870. I confirmed they wouldn't go any lower.

I went back to Howden, and they went down to £855, but what swayed it was the method of guaranteeing value.

Lancaster and Adrian Flux take a month to decide, and they want to know everything. It's a major exercise pulling together all the required imnformation.

Howden just want six photographs. Photos were e-mailed yesterday, and this morning I have confirmation of guaranteed valuation cover.

You may think this is not important, but the month it takes for the others to confirm is a month when you don't have guaranteed value cover. If anything happens, the valuation is the estimated book value of the car.

Howdens are good. When they were A Plan they were also good.
Mine is coming up for renewal next month. Less than last year which always saves a fight.
I also have agreed value and they were very easy and quick to deal with.

Highly recommended for anything 'out of the ordinary'. Not so good for me for the other normal cars.

Agree that Howden/A-Plan are excellent to deal with. Insured a previous car (classic) with them for 3 years and thought it was a breath of fresh air being provided with a positive customer experience.
