Z3 roof needs some TLC

I use my 199 Z3 1.9 as a daily driver and it's parked outdoors. The roof has started to need some serious repair/replacement as you can see from the photos. The screen is split and a lot of the edge trim is coming away.

What are my options (besides a new roof)? I know you can get a replacement screen but will this fix the edge trim issue?

Many thanks!

IMHO with a Z3 the inevitable is top replacement, you can sew this one up for now but in the end you will replace the roof.

I had the same issue. My local BMW dealer was able to order and install a new rear window which includes that rubber trim.

The rubber bead is part of the window and not the top. Changing the window will fix the rubber bead problem. The window zips in.

Search this forum for more information on the job.

You would need to have a good look at all the stitching around the window if this is damaged and you replace the window you will more than likely find the zip stitching will fail.
Best value new that you will probably find will be Jack Smith in Swansea one of the zeds i own has a roof from him prior to my ownership looks good and good fit only main difference is bonded rear window so cant be replaced unlike the factory original one .

Stephen.
