Yeah the DSC needs LV not normal 4, so I got some of that from Opie
Not seen that before. Can I ask why LV?
I have had a good few BMWs now with DSC and all have just used dot4.

The DSC as far as I am aware, just applies the rear brakes, individually, when needed to 'unskew' the car on the rear end. I don't see the reason for any different thickness of fluid.

I am sure in the great scheme of things it doesn’t matter too much but I read in multiple places cars with DSC need LV to work most effectively
From the Bentley manual

DOT 4 brake fluid has higher dry and wet boiling points than DOT 3, making it better for high-performance vehicles and demanding driving conditions. While DOT 3 is suitable for normal driving, DOT 4 can withstand higher temperatures before boiling, which reduces brake fade. You can typically use DOT 4 in a system designed for DOT 3, but you should not put DOT 3 in a DOT 4 system.

This video explains the differences between DOT 3 and DOT 4 brake fluid, including their boiling points and how they perform under heat:

Every days a school day, I’d never even heard of “ low viscosity “ brake fluid until this thread🤷‍♂️
Me neither ..it’s also called ‘ESP’ if you are after some . Anyway it arrived today from Opie ..looks and tastes like normal Dot4 to me 😀
