What have you bought for your Zed this week?

I bought a bulk pack of 50 microfibre cloths for 'cleaning season'. I have loads but some are past their best TBH.
I also bought (on clearance offer) 3 litres of Simoniz car wash stuff.

I did also buy four 120mm angle brackets to support my s/s front side wing vents, as they are too heavy. But my zed isn't normal.

Couldn’t help myself this past weekend and bought a strut tower bar. I’ll bolt it down in a few weeks/months when we have warm weather again! (Peak winter here so the car sits in the garage)

Just bought a set of mats for the 2.8.

The fixings dont quite match … but with a slight modification they will

Possibly because they appear to use a VW fixing ???
also ticket says no rears…..

So why did I get these??

A comically large 34mm spanner to get the inner tie rods off the steering rack. Could easily double up as a nightstick to fend off burglars now I've done the job.

Ooh. After whacking said burglar you can't tell plod that you had the spanner by your bed for defensive purposes coz they'll do 'you' for GBH and for having an offensive weapon and the burglar can sue you for damages and loss of earnings.

You need to buy a spare zed steering rack off of that ebay wotsit and keep that by your bed too. Then, after bashing the burglar you can just say "It was 3 in the morning m'lud and I was in bed spannering on me zed rack when a burglar appeared etc etc." That's the only time you're allowed to bash an intruder with a 34mm spanner.

Of course there may be another legitimate reason why you'd have a 34mm ring spanner in bed with you but I can't think of anything.

A new OEM blower resistor. Classic symptoms, blower only worked on position 4.
The original (black) has lasted 29 years so invested in a new OEM one (now blue). The original might have cleaned up but the springs look a bit "tired". Here's to the next 29 years!!

Bunch of bits to try and eliminate a squealing brake, was going to just fit new slider pins and rubber bushes until I fell across brass bushes which should eliminate any twisting of the callipers on the pins and hopefully stop the offside rear squealing in my ear as I slow down gently when it gets a bit warm.

Bought new springs for front and rear, new slider pins all round (cheaper if you chose the X3 named listing!) and the brass bushings and circlips. Plus copper grease which I have many tubs of, due to losing it and buying a replacement then finding the lost tub.

To go with my new impact wrench. A socket set from Halfords

However my first order was a failed one, money taken but order not captured. So I caused a fuss and ended up getting this lot for free:thumbsup:

Oil filter cap remover for Z3, impact socket for wheels and some microfibers to replace my ones the wife has been using round the house:eek:
