Soft top issues

Hi I’ve attached a picture of a repeating issue of the fabric coming away from the plastic window seal.
I’ve already pushed in back into place one. But comes out again once on the road.
Original roof from a 2002 car. Been kept in the garage all its life and latex up in the winter. Roof in good nick.
Any ideas of a solution, don’t want to glue it as it’s the cover for the zip. Thanks

I assume the zip works fine and seals up making everything dry ?

Id zip out the screen in that case and see what you can fix, a decent glue from inside would hide and repairs maybe.

Difficult to see unfortunately.

I had the exact same problem a 1998 car that had always been garaged. It seemed to be shrinkage back of the material which is fair enough given its age, in the end I bit the bullet and had a new roof rather than fit a window and have the same happen again

If it doesn’t actually leak, just leave it alone.

Thanks for the advice. As suggested I’ll leave it and see what happens. New hood if needed.
I see from a previous post of a company in Stockport The soft top shop.
I live in North Yorkshire near Skipton. Does anyone recommend anything closer.

The “soft top shop” would come out and fit it on your drive. Which to be honest for me was worth the extra cost vs time and travel

Unfortunately, even if you can zip it out, this is what happens after time and, ultimately, a new roof is what's required if you want absolute perfection. I tried tucking the fabric back in and using some silicone to seal it - but it's not a total solution. As someone earlier observed, it won't leak.
