I won't be arranging it next year! I am really really peed off if honest

I had fantastic goodie bags this year to hand out as well
 
Morning, really sorry to hear you have had the issues. Thank you for organising the event. A few more cars today. Took a long time to get in this morning. Over an hour to get from A43 roundabout. Not enough staff on main entrance to process the tickets.
Apart from that there is very good attendance today.
 
Last minute decision to attend yesterday. General admission tickets using the public car parking and drove straight into the southern carpark from Buckingham which contained a surprisingly wide range of classics.

As anticipated the event is much smaller given the focus on the racing which was excellent, very much the old Coys festival vibe without all the retail tat. Not going to the “Carfest” event, is there capacity for both at the same venue so close together.?
 
Definitely worth a visit to the old pits where all the race cars are lined up in the paddocks, Goodwood FoS style. Wasn't too busy either. Nice event. Agree on carfest. It used to held in the next village down from me. Different audience I found, not all car enthusiasts.
 
I attended all three days and great to see it back to where it was, great racing, great cars and more relaxed. I always get in for about 9.30pm and come up from the Bicester end, no queues then, just sacrifice the first race or two. We were the last ones standing at 4.30pm Sunday, photo attached. Sorry to hear about your woes Stacey, don't give up because they are talking up 2027 already, which means it should be better organised. Photo attached.

Agreed, it was a great event. The highlight for me was the pre-war racing and the sight and sound of a BMW Roadster giving it all:

I thing the whole Silverstone Classic scene has been damaged by the treatment that the different car clubs had received at last years event and the fact of the uncertainty of any future event since Silverstone had decided to give the Classic slot to CarFest 2026 and Chris Evans. I thing the BMW plot last year (which we have grumbled about in the past) was one of the few that had a good position compared to say Jaguar, replaced by tractors, quite a kick in the teeth for them. Never did get to their area on far side of the circuit.
With most of the normal car club pitches being displaced by food courts it was almost a preview of the layout for CarFest. The feedback I've had from BMWCC personnel is that the majority of car clubs were so cheesed off with their treatment last year that they decided to give the current Classic effort a miss.
BMWCC had to a certain extent I believe had the BMW Live event pencilled in for last weekend so were never going to attend the "replacement" event.
As a result all the Coupe owners that I was in contact with from last year's Classic said we'll attend Live event instead in 2026. Whether the Silverstone Classic can attract the car clubs back only time will tell.

This just my view of the whole situation after having attended the Silverstone Classic every year since 2013 (apart from 2020 Covid), I welcome alternative views.

I did mention all the above in an earlier post on this thread and said I wouldn't be attending the replacement Silverstone event.
 
This event appears to have been organised by the BRDC, the Silverstone branding was noticeably absent from the whole thing. It was as though Silverstone wanted to distance themselves from the event having put all of their resources into the other festival in August.
Because of this the organisation was a bit haphazard and the facilities were minimal.
It was very well attended by a good number of car clubs and was very much a car/race meet with a pleasant and informal atmosphere. Shame you couldn’t make it this year, I’d definitely recommend it for next year.
 
If you like cars, and racing, and positively don’t want the razzmatazz, food village, fairgrounds and other tat, it was brilliant.
The racing was excellent, all the cars were in one pits rather than split, a fact enjoyed by the racers for camaraderie, and the viewing public.
Yes it was a bit loose with organisation, but hopefully, BRDC will have gained a lot of experience/feedback and next year the car clubs can once again embrace the event.

Unfortunately I think the damage has been done and may take a while for owners to go back to Silverstone as can be seen by how many turned up at this event. For me the dates of the "new Classic" event might be a deciding factor. Just have to wait and see, as the BMW Live event was better for me, distance and cost wise and we had a bunch of Coupes together with more saying they would attend Live event next year.
 
They could start with free tickets for the club organisers...give them something for the hard work they put in to make this happen for us. Let's hope they don't clash with BMW live next year so those than want to can attend both.
