Red Highland Z3 1.9 Roadster

A few weeks ago, we mislaid a glasses case, with its contents. Despite avid searching including in the car, under the seats etc, all to no avail. Then seemingly unconnected, last week the airbag warning light came on. Having taken advice, I disconnected the battery, took each seat out, and there tucked up in the wiring under the passenger seat was the glasses case. So I cleaned all the connectors underneath each seat, but on reassembly, the light still stayed on. So I was dreading an expensive garage job.
Today Ray came to the rescue with a 'MUCAR CS6 OBD2 Scanner 6 System Auto Code Reader with ABS/SRS/ECM/TCM/BCM/TPMS, 7 Reset Services Oil/EPB/SAS/TPMS/ETS/ABS/DPF'.
Which in plain English means it does all the things an OBD2 scanner does with emissions etc, and can reset all those things on that list, SRS being Supplemental Restraint System, which includes airbags and seat belt tensioners.
So I plugged it in, switched on and it came up with the cars VIN and full spec. I went in to SRS, airbags, and it promptly identified the problem: "Firing Circuit, Belt Tensioner (Passenger)"
I then told it to clear the error code, and the warning light went out and has stayed out: it comes on when the ignition is switched on but goes out straight away. So presumably my cleaning the contacts had done its' job, but the error code just needed clearing. Ray is getting a different version reader which will do more on his electric car, so after short negotiations, I have now become the proud possessor of a Mucar SC6, which will get lifetime updates on your wifi with one touch of a button, no laptop or computer required. It will also email you a report direct, in .pdf format.

Long time since I've posted here, for various reasons, but I've been enjoying regular Z3 motoring all year. I'm afraid the photos are not in chronolgical order, but give an idea of the goings-on up here in the Highlands.
Earlier in the year the old Volvo finally expired with a cracked cylinder block, and was eventually replaced with a 2004 Rover 75 CDTi auto, with, of course, the BMW two litre diesel engine. So, with only 180k on the clock, it should give us a few years happy and extremely comfortable motoring.
This week, the rear silencer and pipe on the Rover needed replacing, so the Z3 was used to collect the replacement from the motor factors.
During the year, we visited the west coast quite often,
whilst the east coast just north of us was also regularly visited.
The trip on our local two car ferry from Cromarty to Nigg saves about 35 miles driving round the Firth. This is the view as you drive down the loading ramp,
We join in the local car club runs each month when we can,
along with some other Zeds:
And here's another photo of the exhaust - I got some strange looks driving home, northwards on the A9! Perhaps people thought it a little chilly for roof-down motoring!
We went to various car shows during the year, this one at Fortrose. This show has been going for twenty one years or so, and the first time we went to it was eighteen years ago after lunch on our wedding day, in all our finery, so this was a nice way to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
Then a friendly little show at Ballintore,
and a bigger one at Tain, with the local club.
The car sailed through its MOT again, carried out in our local garage, the Firm of Hugh Scott, Jemimaville. (Converted from an old chapel)

Always look forward to your postings from the Highlands. I recall a previous posting where you mentioned you went to a car show straight after your wedding, you picked a good'un there, you kindly posted a photo of said event. 
Thank you! And you're absolutely right - i did a write up on the 2024 event, when there were nine other bright red soft top sports cars in the show, plus a bright red tractor! You have a good memory!

Out of curiosity how did you rate the Neutrarust on the diff (and whatever other vehicles you used it on) It is supposed to be painted over but not sure if that is actually necessary. Needs to be applied to surface rust as you are no doubt aware in order to work.
It seemed to work ok, and when it had cured, I applied Lanoguard. I need to get the car on the ramp and have a look to see how it has fared over twenty-odd months, as I haven't really checked the diff lately
