I heard it said no good deed goes unpunished, and it may be true. I joined a cycling " challenge" ro ride 300 miles in August and find sponsors to donate for Children's Cancer Research. I lost a grandson to a brain tumor, and entered to honor his memory. I was well past halfway to my 300 miles, and had just returned from a 20 mile ride, turned into my driveway, lost the rear wheel and slammed hard on my right side on the ground. My driveway is not paved, it's rock and pea gravel and there are ruts from where tires have removed both. For a second I feared I'd broken my hip, my leg went numb and I had a fair bit of pain. When I tried to stand initially my leg just folded under.
Long story short I was able to stand and get to my back door , painfully. After 2 days of much pain from my pelvic area I think it's called the iliac (?) and difficulty walking without a lot of pain, my daughter is forcing me to go for xrays tomorrow. I don't like hospitals or doctors much so I'm not looking forward to this. Anyway, my cycling is out for a while, and the Z will stay in my shop as well. Getting in and out of it is a bit of a struggle for my 80yr old bones when I'm well, I can't hardly get up from my dining room chairs at the moment...
