Going by the slow mo section, those chutes were the difference between incredibly scary and certain death! The way the car corrected as soon as they deployed is bloody impressive.

Incredible how the driver was able to have held the driving line. Awesome video footage from all directions. Love it

No that's a good safety reason to fit side exit exhausts!

Now that's my kind of race! Luckily he pulled it off but had he not he probably would have been safe in the cocoon designed for just this kind of accident. And @t-tony I would have loved it, not much different than stocker racing only safer and faster!!
 
Those chutes just saved the roll over. They pulled the rear end back under control.
 
Recovering that was impressive he was a very lucky man that could have been very nasty

No need to play the lottery in the next twenty years; he used his luck plenty!
Spectacular, but never want to do that...
 
I think the car didn't roll over thanks to the lowered center of gravity given by the driver's massive pair of b**ls...

Combination of the chute deploying and some quick reactions pulled that back from the brink.
Guy at work races top fuel dragsters. All I can say is he can only think in straight lines too :whistle:
