Just dropped my Z3 250GT california into the garage for it's second MOT (as it is now) plus oil and brake fluid change. Nervous about them working on my car and it getting an advisory-free MOT.

I spent hours yesterday checking everything works; lights, indicators, horn, fan, wipers, washers, etc. Then I put stickers on all the warning lights and switches so they know what they are. I also had to change the reg plates to standard yellow and white ones.

I gave them an A4 sheet with 'instructions' of how to get the wheels off and on if they need to, how to start the thing (two keys) and how to use the window switches if they need to.

I have also asked them to change the details on the MOT database to mirror those on the V5, as it is still showing as a Z3 on the MOT.

Hopefully it will all go smoothly and they won't damage my precious car. Makes me nervous though.

No not unless you created a new mot record for that reg/ chassis which will clash with original one. ( new record should be made from v5 and presented vehicle details if that says z3 and tester changes it they could get into trouble for that )

The DVLA are the ones who should change the V5 details which would then also change the mot record and merge the 2 together.
Stephen.
