After the freelander having a bump last week and now getting condemned by our local friendly garage man it was decided to replace the old girl for something a bit newer. Amazed how poor the boot is on the freelander 2 which is important as we have a dog crate to get in the back we settled on this. Collecting on Saturday.

I'm guessing you went for the Diesel Dave? Same lump they put in Volvos, which are nearly all Focus underneath anyway.

Kuga, Escape doesn't exist over here. We had an Escape (petrol) in Florida in the spring. Great car.

Ah... ok.... we have the Escape, the Kuga and a myriad of other models that appear, then disappear, then re appear..... can’t keep up with them all now. Most of them look the same anyway. As an everyday driver they are great but just lack “personality”.... just my thoughts....

I would look Korean myself. Kia for instance, or Hyundai. All are owned by Hyundai by the way.

We briefly hung our noses over a Mazda CX-7 mate but that soon got put to bed. I like Ford's. Got a focus myself so there are similarities there. There was very little in this category that we actually liked.

We were well stung with the Sorento, wouldn't go near Korean again.
