Hi, and belated welcome from Mansfield.

Hope you had fun in the Zed this year.

Are you planning on keeping her long term? Done any repairs or modifications?
Hi Jjim, I plan on being the last owner and have no intention of selling. It's a lovely car and I just don't think they make them like this anymore.

On repairs, it failed an MOT in June on a single NS outer ball joint. But due to old / seized parts, this quickly escalated into changing both suspension arms and bushes, a snapped drop link, steering track rods on both sides, eBay'ing INPA and cable to reset the steering wheel sensor, and aligning the wheels using the axle stand / string method. I did the work myself in my back yard using a lot of the knowledge from this site :computer:

My daughter and son - in - law and their two boys are in Newcastle at the moment :p
They are visiting our son - in - laws family ;)
I've got some photos and it's thick snow :)
They are watching Newcastle play football today ;)
Hope you have fun on the forum @DrWong ;)
Thanks for bringing me out into the open Shelly haha:bag:
Yes, the Toon was very wintry yesterday! Fortunately, I'd spent the last six weeks building a car port in my back yard - for just this type of scenario actually - so the Z was all tucked up nice and dry:thumbsup:

Hiya welcome from me in Sunderland!
As @roadvoyager1 said have a look on the meets page and also join 'BMW Z3 North East UK' page on Facebook.
There will be a few mini meets coming up to summer.
Hello mate! Will deekies the FB page
I've a lot of pals in Sunderland so I'm through there quite often. If you see an Asian fellow pottering about in a little old blue BMW (there can't be that many...) give us a pip or a wave.!:coolsteer)

Hello and wlcome to the forum from Shotley Bridge. There are a few of us from the NE here on Z.org. Also check out the local Z3 Facebook page.
I take my car off the road over the winter, but others do use them year round.
A good meet up for Zeds from all ove is the Lakes Cruise organised by @Andy McDonnell.
Will add some links for you later.
Thanks roadvoyager, hope to meet up with you in due course:thumbsup:

Lovely looking car mate, glad you've come out of hiding, my brother lives in Tynemouth, sadly he's not a ZedHead.
Thanks Spurs fan, she's in great condition for her age which is a credit to the three previous keepers. The last guy before me only did 5k in the five years he owned her. There's a few bits of surface rust underneath that I want to nip in the bud in the next six months, but none of these are show-stoppers as yet thankfully

Hi DrWong! Greetings from sunny Hartlepool (NOT!). Was talking to petecossie from Teesside this morning and he mentioned you so I thought I would say hello. Pete and I are both active members of the North East BMWGBCC and the next meet is on 14th January at Champs in Washington from 10:30am normally, cheap breakfasts and sometimes we go out for a run afterwards. Non members are always welcome and I have got far more than my £45 a year membership fee in parts discounts and advice plus a cracking monthly mag called straight 6.

I wont be in my Z3 as its in storage until 1st March so will be in the E93 325i M convertible on snow tyres! I have owned my Z3 2.2 Sport for 4 years almost and have a fair amount of experience, spares and bits and pieces if you ever need any help or advice just get in touch. Your car looks immaculate BTW! Looking forward to meeting you some time. Mike.

Hi Mike! Many thanks for saying hello
Your Z looks in amazingly fine fettle too matey! Silver was my other colour choice. And I'm dead jealous of anyone with the new-style 02/52 number plate lol. Cheers also for the offer of help and advice, much appreciated

Is BMWGBCC the one that some insurers look favourably on if you're a member?

That E93 looks rather tasty btw...
