I've just sat and watched the Ch4 highlights having avoided news etc, and I'll be honest, screw the points, I'd like the 2 hours of my life back please.
It's not just McLarens penalties today, it was also Antonells' false start, I had to watch it twice to see the movement.
McLarens wear, biggest measurement 0.26mm, that probably is less than a Rizla!
But it's not just today, is it, how many post race disqualifications have we had for minor weight issues attributed to wear of what are consumable items?
Mickey Mouse guiding drivers pre-race, pink lego Cadallacs, and Beyonces fat tit's hanging out didn't exactly add to the motorsport experience.
It's getting pathetic, and after getting close to 40 years of watching, I'm struggling to keep the faith.

I'm with you Smiffy struggling to watch and keep paying for SKY sports , I was hooked over 50 years ago when Jackie Stewart was racing, the cars are way too complicated now, bring back the 70's proper cars!!

Things move on, that's why we don't all drive Ford Anglia's, watch 3 TV channels and buy Vesta Curries. Modern F1 isn't for us old farts, its for the current generation, we are a decreasing minority fan base.
It's not the progress that's the problem, it's the pettiness.
Russell's DQ for being under weight previously, due to tyre wear, wasn't cheating, it was the result of good, tactical driving and tyre management.
Antonelli penalty for moving maybe 5mm on the start wasn't cheating, it was more like breathing!.
is it 7 cars this year (?), Ferrari's, Gasly and McLarens DQ'd for wear equal to a human hair, on surfaces intended to contact the surface over a 2 hour race, especially when ride height is irrelevant when running over a curb!. Come on!
If a car passes pre-race scrutineering, for weight and ride height, that should be it. Do the weight dry, with bare rims, and ride height on fully defected suspension. Job done.
"lift and coast" so you don't scratch the plank, rather than trying to make a spectacle of a race to the line, had already unknowingly ripped off every paying customer.
The race had so much potential, 4 different manufacturers on the two front rows, including a Williams! no real dry practice or qualifying to perfect set up, all destroyed by a hair width.
