How do!

My other project car is a Nissan Elgrand E50. It doesn't get half as much love as my Z3, but sadly it has just failed it's MOT on the exhaust blowing around a flexi joint - so much so that there was not enough gas flowing at the end of the pipe to read the emissions. Oops! She's an old girl and is more rust than not, tbh I am actually surprised the rest of the MOT went as well as it did - just a new pair of wipers and ARB droplinks required

With it being a JDM model, the garage want little to do with it and offered to replace the exhaust section but I would need to find and source the part myself.

I have found this, which claims to be compatible, but after speaking to the garage they ummed and ahhed about it and made out that they'd really rather replace the whole section (£) than cutting and welding this in (£££). The trouble is, I am struggling to find the section required, so feel like splicing this in is going to be the only feasible solution, especially if I want to retest in the next 2 weeks and not to spend twice what the car is worth on a whole new exhaust system.

The thought occurs though, that maybe I could cut the old flexi out and fit this by using a couple of exhaust sleeves. What do you think? I have not used exhaust sleeves before, but it feels like this is exactly what they are for, and could prove to be a budget-friendly solution - especially considering realistically it probably only needs to hang on for 2-3 more years before she heads off on a road trip to car heaven

Thanks Iain! A couple of clamps is surely simpler than the sleeve approach!
