Had a problem getting the old coils out of my E89, but big thanks to @bombur who sent me a video from the 'tinternet! I was wary of pulling on the clips because I thought they might just snap off, but no. Just put a bar(I used a wrench from a small socket set) through the clip and pull. I unclipped the wiring from the strut bar to give better access to the back coil.
