I'd love to do something like that with mine. I have a "no cheap ali express chinesium" policy however. I've looked for a replacement head unit for ages and have never found one that does what I want. My dad replaced the factory unit with an Alpine when the car was practically brand new so that he could have satellite radio. Unfortunately, it appears he did not keep the factory unit.

I'd like to restore mine to original, but those have gotten insanely expensive. I figure if I'm gonna have something aftermarket, it should at least do what I need: some level of at least bluetooth phone integration. I'd love android auto, but refuse to have a huge screen sitting there blocking half the dash. I almost bought a unit that had a pop-out holder for the phone. That might have been a good compromise, but they don't make 'em anymore.

1. What I recommended addresses all your wishes (BT, fits nicely, hands free ....etc)
2. WRT to your "Chinesium" hangup - I'm sure you're aware that anything around you is from China - just on AliExpress you pay less than half. (So it you find a 6.28" unit in the UK - it's from China and just cost £135)
