Good afternoon , I guess this was discussed a number of times - just wanting to know what the common knowledge is on this topic. The fault codes relates to the seat occupancy sensor (SBE1) and sometimes Passenger Seat Tensioner comes up as well. I have facelift seats plugged into a prefacelift car harness using the BMW supplier adaptors . So far I tried :

- cleaning all the contacts for both the buckle connector and the main seat harness and adaptor
- new occupancy sensor
- occupancy sensor by-pass module

Nothing worked . I figured since the by-pass module does not make a difference the seat occupancy mat itself cannot be the issue. I have ordered a new airbag ECU module as I have seen on other forums it can work uncoded ( it was only a cheap one off ebay so no biggie ).

Next steps :

-> try swapping passenger and driver seats to see it fault follows seat
-> try new ECU module

Has anybody had this before where it could not be fixed by cleaning, occupancy by-pass etc ? what worked in the end ?

Try cleaning the connector to the seatbelt pretensioner..which is effectively a small self contained explosive attached to the seatbelt! Replacing that may fix the issues

Wonder if that will also accept the resistor trick?
