Just thought i would put this out there. My z3 2000 2.8 had some air bag related faults after taking passenger seat out
to remove some speakers. When all was refitted my code reader was showing 1 air bag module fault 2 seat belt explosive mechnism
and 3 passenger seat ocupancy. Sorted seat with new by pass unit and some re wiring but had to send module away as would not clear fault or work.
I used a company in liverpool said £75 to clear any faults and make sure coded for car. They came back and said unit had hard faults and would be another
£120 for a new one or refund of the £45 coding fee and send item back .initially didnt get unit back for a while money never refunded. But heres the bad bit
there was nothing wrong with unit just loose on the terminal to module now i know why there was a ty wrap on it yet they wanted an extra £120 and would prob have sold on my unit . so difficult to trust people out there.
sorry folks just a grip but all good now. all the best to every one Taz G

I’m sorry this happened and you are spot on when you say it’s hard to trust any of these companies to do a good job. What’s the company’s name so we all know to avoid it like the plague? Name and shame them.

For balance. That particular business has a very good reputation amongst the MotorHome owners world, particularly with Stellantis based vehicles and their cheap and nasty electronic modules particularly air bag.

The social media whinges are often found to be owner/user error when re-installing, or not putting the correct address on the items being sent to CD.

So only motor home owners. The company ought to position itself as such then so people with other vehicles know to go elsewhere.

Hmmm not only MotorHome owners. As my post, Stellantis based vehicles, which encompasses myriad vehicles.

Stellantis is currently managing major airbag module faults primarily related to the widespread Takata airbag recall, which impacts millions of vehicles across its brands—including Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Citroën.

The OP mentions it wasn't a module fault, but just loose on the terminal to module. Unknown as to whether the loose on the terminal was prior to removal for sending away, after removal to send away, before re-installation, or post re-installation. Lots of variables to establish a fault.

Somewhat unreasonable to slate a company on a forum without an established cause imho.

In my experience, rarely does someone publicly complain about an experience with a vehicle-related company allegedly providing a service without cause. No smoke with fire.

let me clear this up a bit. one person can buy an item and its great another not so as with cars we dont all like the same thing some can have great experience others not so. my gripe was the un truth. telling me the module hard a hardware fault when it didnt not refunding the test fee and wanting another £120 that was my experience irrelevant to others who may have had no problem. they also said if i get a new module it will need coding also not correct as previous owner put a second hand one in as long as same part number and no faults logged it will work the coded faults where there before i removed it which is why i sent it of . having tie wrapped the connecter to module all is well my doggy local roads ccant shake it loose
