Z4 E84 2.2 - Does the steering column from RHD works on LHD?

Hello, I have the well known problem whit the steering column on the Z4 E85. My car is with LHD but I can't find a replacement from LHD, all the columns I find are from RHD from UK.

Is someone here who put a steering column from a RHD on a LHD car? And if yes what are the mods that it needed to be done?

Go to www.realoem.com into the BMW catalogue.

Select your car. Model, Europe or USA, LHD and go to the section showing the steering column. Write down all the part numbers of the pieces you need.

Then back out of that page and select the RHD model.

Compare your LHD part numbers with the RHD to see what's the same/different.

On realoem the steering column is sold a as an entire pice and it has the same code on LHD and RHD. But in reality it looks different.

The internals will be the same, the outside plastics likely different. Most lhd manufacturers don’t bother changing much for rhd markets.
