I'll start off with one from today.

It was actually a semi prestige dealer in Norwich

And the car described as having a "good service history" and "prepared to the highest standard" turned out to have not been serviced for the last four years, and they haven't serviced it because it still has green lights on.

On the flip side, we were selling our Opel Ascona 1.6s GT Sport in Germany years ago, all was going well until the C-in-C blurted out 'we've had nothing but trouble with it' :arghh: We got our coats and had a silent drive home
:bashhead:

Our Fiesta RS TURBO was overheating, took it in for repair and the chap said 'fix done, it does go up into the red but only for a short period of time '

Wrong answer son, call me when it's fixed :mad::mad:

‘It’s the amount of power it has that does that (judders on acceleration) nothing wrong with the driveshafts’

If it was a 1000hp drag car yes sure!

It was a VR6 engined galaxy, it does have a plenty of power to be fair but also well known for munching driveshafts....
Nice MPV

hows that work then?
They actually bring you a car to your house?
Is the showroom a long term car park...could be a good business model come to think of it, no showroom overheads!

No mate they have a massive indoor showroom. 500-600 cars in it but they stop you as you enter asking what you are looking for. They take a description and check their stock. A minion then goes off and brings the car to you in a viewing area and starts to give you the hard sell. It's a s*** way of doing business.

I was looking for a runner to go to and from work, only wanted to spend 1k on it max as long as it had a long mot.

Went into a garage looked at a car that look ok then lifted the bonnet, checked the oil, dipstick came out dry.
so i looked at another car on the forecourt, the same thing.

The salesman at that moment came up to me, "hello sir can i help you "

Me : I was looking at these two cars but both have no oil in them.

salesman : Ah that's because there in the middle of getting a service.

Me : in the middle of the forecourt !! , don't think so

I then left the garage

My sister in law was looking for an Audi A1, the Carshop had a couple in stock so she asked me if I'd go with her to have a look at them - it took us over 25 minutes to get past the sales pitch BEFORE we even saw a car! The car was eventually brought round to us, but it was in a shocking state & said we no to that one however, next to where they parked the Audi was a VW Polo, so we asked if we could have a look at that while we were there, so they got the keys to the Polo and opened it up (this is all inside the showroom by the way!) - we then wanted to compare the boot size between the two cars, they had LOCKED up the Audi even though as it was literally 3ft away, the sales person then mumbled something about having to go back and ask for the keys to to the Audi again to which we walked out!

It's a shocking way to do business. Carshop runs it's sales on a system called Pendle. They adopted it from another firm who's name has totally gone but they went bust and now trade as "we buy any car".
