Archived Scotland Trip 26th - 29th August 2016

I have started this thread now the dates have been picked, I'll ask the mods to lock the old on and I will keep this up to date, Looking to take advantage of the August Bank Holiday the dates will be Friday 26th to Monday 29th August.

Hopefully with a good few people travelling from the south the format will be something like this: -

Friday - Make your way North (or south) to the hotel for late afternoon early evening, then evening meal etc.
Saturday - Day trip out and about TBC, lunch on the hop and back to the hotel for evening meal etc.
Sunday - Day trip out and about TBC, lunch on the hop and back to the hotel for evening meal etc.
Monday - Depart and Leisurely trip back home

I'll look to block book rooms at a hotel in a week or so when I have a few more names.

We had quite a list on the last thread with interested people, now the dates have been added can you please re-enter your name below.

Do you have a hotel in mind? and would that be in Fort William or near you?
Why i'm asking is we would travel up on the Thursday for an overnight stay somewhere North of the Lakes and then travel
up for your suggested Hotel to meet on the Friday evening!

I have nothing fixed as yet, Either location will will be a great base for a hotel, Thinking aloud, the Killin area will be an hours less travel than Fort William for people travelling North.

OK I have now changed my booking dates to:
Drive up on the Thursday 25th Aug. to Tebay services area "Orton", for a night stop over, then on the Friday we will drive up to Fort William
area, (Found a nice little Guest house with view of the Lake) Ready then to either meet up with you in the evening or the Saturday morning
depending where you arrange!
For the Saturday and Sunday night we will see what hotel and where the others will be before doing anymore.
I know the booking is early but I find that you get better prices and more choice doing it this way. Later down the line
its going to get more expensive especially on a bank holiday weekend with all the yanks arriving!!

Think I have our trip sussed drive up Wednesday 24th (3 1/2 hr) first stop around Stoke, then on Thursday 25th (1 1/2 hr) drive to Lake District for a little run around and a stop over around Penrith, then Friday 26th a (4 1/4 hr) run up to the base Hotel awaiting conformation ready for the Saturday jobs a goodenso please add me to the list Brian

Brian we have booked into the Travel Lodge in Penrith on Thursday 25th so will definitely be able to meet up for the onward journey on the Friday to the base hotel (same as Dave)
