3 litre Z3 pretending to be Italian exotica. Two previous E89 Z4s.
What do you think the reserve is?

Got to be £40k - only 168 right hand drive cars made it to the UK.

That said I can't believe how neglected this one looks - but I guess with these cars that's better than one that's been over fettled / modified.

AI is all American and US prices are much higher than ours.

IMO there are only a few reasons why people put cars into auctions....

1. It is a super rare car that is difficult to value by anyone.
2. They can't sell it through mainstream for sale ads, so give it a punt.
3. They are expecting big money by several people fighting over it and set the reserve really high.
4. They need to sell quickly usually for financial reasons. This one doesn't seem to be common anymore IME.

The days of finding a bargain at auction are long gone!

A friend pointed out this little gem . . . Sounds a lot mind . . . Shoot, what do I know . . .
5,000 miles. That one is a 'collector's piece', so priced accordingly. There are still hedge fund companies that could buy that and sit on it (maybe not at that money though).

These types of 'modern classics' seem to be dropping in value lately from what I've seen, as they got to silly money. But there is no harm in trying!
Personally wouldn't give £5 for a Z3M clown shoe. They are in my top 10 of ugliest cars ever made and I need something pretty to look at for my money.

The engine bay looks neglected…not had a look at the other pics as there almost 200 but why neglect the engine bay especially when you are trying to sell your car?!?

Interesting. The service history will put a lot of people off. Speedo changed, second hand gearbox😬. Fascinated too see what someone is prepared to pay for it, and what they do with it.

Z3 M Coupe
Did they even make a non-M version of the coupe in RHD - I've only ever seen one for sale and that had been converted from LHD?
No there were only LHD non M Coupes, although there is one 2.8 non M Coupe (Imola Red I think) up here in NE that the owner has been in contact with me which was professionally converted to RHD over in Germany. The owner is coming to one of the BMWCCNE monthly meetings when he has the car sorted as he has a few jobs to do on it.
The preferred nickname in UK amongst Coupe owners is Bread Van (nickname first used on a one off racing 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO), the Clown Shoe is the American nickname. Amusing pic below.
