Hi,
I have a 2000 registered 1.9 Z3 with a "dead" alarm sounder / klaxon.
I have removed the old unit and can see from the markings on the outside that it is fitted with a Ni-MH re-chargeable battery which is probably dead after 25 years.
The unit has a part number 8383 154 12 HW09 printed on the outside however my local BMW dealer doesn't recognise that number.
The correct part number for my vehicle is apparently 65739416246 (superseded by 82929404857) but these are no longer available.
There are plenty of replacement units on eBay but the likelihood is the batteries in those will be knackered too.
I thought about possibly replacing the batteries but although the unit has 3 screws in the back the casing appears to have been glued together and refuses to budge.
Has anyone found a suitable alternative?
