It looks like the DNA and Tribute GRP dashboards slot on top of the original Z3 dash.

Does anyone have info about how that is done? After the z3 binacle and passenger airbag is removed is the remainder of the z3 dash stay intact or is it cut up before attaching the GRP?

Is it possible to do this without removing the z3 dash from the car.

Mine was a Tribute dashboard. It didn't go on top. The original dashboard had to be cut along the back and I used fibreglass to join the two pats together.

This is from my build...

Ask @Jezza. He has a video of how the DNA one is done (or at least multiple pictures).

With my one I had to remove the entire BMW dash, offer up the GRP one to it, then cut the BMW one just in front of the dash vent ductwork all the way along. The GRP dash then fits over what is left of the BMW item and I screwed them together with black self tappers.
The whole lot is then fixed to the car using the three existing screws just under the windscreen. They are a PITA to get in and out as there ain't much room to get anything in there to undo them or do them back up.

When I realised how mine needed to be fixed I thought it would look terrible with a lump of GRP plonked on top of the remains of the Z3 dash but when I painted both parts to match it looks good IMO.

BTW I didn't keep the face/ window vent ductwork. I ripped it out and blanked the outlet.
