The problem is …. the only one that knows how to do all this stuff doesn’t work in the summer ( probably in his villa in spain ) and they still take jobs waiting for him to return and sort them out …
… of course I may be wrong 😂😂😂😂😂

It would have been nice of them, so say they couldnt, or didnt want to deal with the car. Usually in these instances they'll know someone who can and pass on their details to you. So ensuring the car os fixed, you're happy they have been honest and involved and so will likely keep using them for the jobs they have done previously.

Now they've probably lost a long time customer, who wouldnt recommend them to anyone else.

It’s a family run business, the father gave it to his son about 4 years ago……..
And maybe the money has gone to his head
And he only wants to do small jobs
But I really wish I was told this when I took my Z to him
I really need my car , it’s making life so hard , with only one car , I don’t like doing car sharing, I’m just going back and forth…….
Tomorrow I finish work at 12 , Alan finishes at 1 so I’ve got to hang around for a hour , twiddling my thumbs lol 😂
Its just a pain 😂

@Shelly if it’s any consolation it had taken nearly a year to get my car back from having the engine rebuilt but at least the garage I used was honest and upfront with there workload and did state it could be done but would be a while. Hopefully yours will be sorted sooner elsewhere.

Wow that’s a very long time
But at least you were told
I was told it shouldn’t be too long ….
Then 4 weeks ago I was told “ give me a couple of weeks and it will be done “ but I’m still waiting 😖

@Shelly the trouble is, there are few and fewer skilled and experienced businesses around to do work that our cars need as they nearer becoming officially classic cars. This means my car has had to wait patiently in a queue until it reached the top for the work it has needed. In the meantime, relying on lifts and public transport has been both a waste of time and extremely inconvenient.

Oh no they're not. The peripherals may be (all the electronic gubbins that's thrown on there to "make things better") but the basic engine is just some bits that go up and down and then round and round, and this sounds valve drive gear related, so it's a chain from one bit to another. Not complicated at all. Bit like a bicycle.
