First off, there was no other non-car related section to create this thread within, so apologies that this topic is in the 'banter' section.
Since hearing the very sad news of @Ashbandicoot 's passing, I have not been my usual self, and I'm sure many others have felt this way too. I cannot say we were the closest of friends, but as with many of us on here, we shared a passion for our zeds (and even more so, a passion for finding bargain presents for them!). Regardless of how close we were, I knew that I wanted to pay my respects to a man that is sadly gone, but never forgotten. And with this, I wanted to create something for others to participate with that will keep the memory of Ash within our Community.
This is Ash's signature:
Ash's username pays homage to - and his signature includes - a character from a computer game, which I'm sure a few of you are familiar with. This character's name is Crash Bandicoot.
Now, I'd like to pause for a brief moment to reflect on the unfortunate irony between the character's name and Ash's passing, but this I'm sure is something that Ash himself would have chuckled at. And before I go any further - my sincerest apologies to anybody who may take offence from this and feels the link is insensitive.
My hope is to preserve the memories we share of @Ashbandicoot by keeping him riding in a zed at all times, and rocking up to as many meets and cruises as possible. In order to do this, I have taken his forum 'persona' and created a homage to Ash, in the form of a decal, for myself and as many others that wish to join in with the movement, that we can display proudly in the windscreens or on the bodywork of our zeds.
So, below is the decal, as modelled by Scarlett. I have had plenty of these made up, and if I require more, I can get them made and delivered the next day. Please reply to this thread if you would like to join in with this. We are not too sure what is happening yet, but if you would like to make a donation in return for one of these, I'm sure Gary will happily accept them via the forum donate button, and then keep hold of them until we know what Ash's family wish to do with any donations.
So that's it really, please let me know if you'd like to participate with this. Please PM me your address and I will send a decal out to you.
Once again, I completely understand if any of you think this is insensitive; it has been a struggle writing this thread, and I apologise profusely if anyone is offended by my intended message and statement of remembrance.
