How To Guide Changing the throttle cable grommet

Thought I'd post this as it was the cause of a breakdown on Sunday for me, basically the car will only tickover as the cable disconnects from the peddle due to a perished grommet,
This is how I found it today, it got me home but could have come of at any point by the looks of it,

Old grommet, as you can see there is a big chunk missing

New grommet, had to come from BMW Germany, cost £1.61

new one fitted, the whole job took less then 2 minutes, well worth checking

Would a zip tie have worked as a temp fix to get you home?

Think I lost mine when I stripped the interior on the zed a couple of years ago, so drove around with a zip tie until the grommet arrived.

Yes mate, was going to use a zip tie but the RAC guy seemed confident it would hold, and it did for about the 100 miles I have done on it, but as you can see in the pic, it could have gone at any time
